Taking the mundane into the marvelous, award-winning artist Sonia Gill paints still lifes, figures and landscapes. Attracted by the strong light and dark shadows of northern California, Gill has created a visually bold yet emotionally intimate world using oils, watercolors, and collage. Her subjects are personal yet she achieves a level of universality recognized by all. A former teacher in the Berkeley Public Schools, Sonia Gill lives in Berkeley and works from her studio in West Berkeley.
